A wonderful quote from Mary Poppins Broadway musical really sums up my attitude about my life with young children. I am the mom of 4 young children and I still want adventure like a single twenty-something. While there is a place for babysitting and getting away, I feel more free when we are all together. This is not easy, but it can be really great if you can be prepared and excited to go anywhere together.

Now we do not have a whole lot of disposable income and my husband thinks flying is a waste of money. Our travels and adventure may seem modest to many, but it scratches that itch for me and gives us really rich, invigorating time together.
My husband is a truck driver and the idea of a road trip sounds like work to him, but his new found love for astronomy drives us to some pretty cool dark skies.
We actually find ourselves in possession of 2 family vehicles. A Ford minivan and a Chevrolet 12 passenger Express. I quickly got a second set of car seats and we started gearing up the big van for family trips.
