I recently read Becoming Naomi Leon by Pan Munoz Ryan, it was an excellent book and I recommend that you read it.
I do not want to spoil the story for you, but I will leave you with this quote from the last chapter.
Imagine.
Really, imagine all the love floating in the air.
I have been feeling like all that is floating in the air is tension, confusion and SarsCoV2. There is still love floating around in the air, waiting to land on someone’s life.
I know that tensions are running high on many fronts in our country, we have been disrupted and courses that seemed set are now new and different.
Do not forget to let love land in the lives of those you love.
In the story Naomi felt isolated and forgotten when everything is turned upside down. She discovers that there is someone who has loved her all along, even though she never knew it.
Who has been on your mind and in your heart? How can you let that love land?
A note in the mail?
A gift sent along?
Big smiles for strangers?
Scrolling past that facebook post?
Text messages?
Venmo $5 for a coffee and doughnut?
Find a way to let love land on those around you.
23 and Me has shaken up the world of families everywhere. I see people finding new family members weekly in my little corner of the internet.
How do you respond when you find a new family member? Uncover a family secret?
Can you let that love that is floating around land in their lives? There are no easy answers for these situations. If you have had your world flipped upside down, reach out. Connect with people who love and care about you, journal, let it be weird. Call a professional.
Sometimes it feels like everything is new and everything is changing and we are trying to extinguish a fire that rages all around us.
We are weary, but strong. We have endured a large shift in our worlds and we have survived, but the battle still rages.
There is a lot of concern among educators and parents over the mental health of our precious youth. How can you love your children today? How can you love the children in your neighborhood?
As the weather warms up and you see more kids outside, what would it look like to let them know that you are happy they are in your neighborhood?
Sidewalk chalk dropoff?
I know that very few people will read this post, but I was so compelled by this quote that I had to write this. I had to explore my own feelings about all the love floating around just waiting to land in someone’s life.
